Welcome. I’m Cassie, a 36-year-old artist, illustrator and writer, working to build a studio of my own where, somewhere between motherhood, nature and imagination, I create worlds.

The Woodland Mother grew from a desire to make something gentle and meaningful from the difficult, beautiful and often untidy seasons of life. Through watercolour, collage, printmaking, poetry and storytelling, I explore motherhood, grief, healing, childhood and the quiet magic found in the natural world.

My work is inspired by tangled branches, weathered leaves, woodland creatures, folklore and the small moments that are so easily overlooked. I love combining traditional drawing with painted papers, handmade textures and movable or sculptural elements to create artwork that feels tactile, imperfect and full of life.

Much of this creative journey began as a way of finding myself again after losing my baby, Erin Jade, through an ectopic pregnancy. Nature and creativity became places of refuge as I moved through grief, faced my own mortality and slowly began to find my way forward.

The Woodland Mother is not only an artistic identity, but a record of that healing — of learning to notice beauty again, of making space for grief and joy to exist alongside one another, and of building a life that feels rooted, honest and hopeful.

From my Erin Jade Studio, I am developing children’s books, illustrated poetry collections, nature-inspired artwork, handmade pieces and creative projects for families and fellow woodland dreamers.

Here you will find stories in progress, behind-the-scenes glimpses of my studio, reflections on motherhood and creativity, and artwork shaped by the belief that even after the hardest winters, something new can begin to grow.

Original work is held in private collections across the UK, Europe and North America. The studio also produces small editions of museum-quality prints.
